Hangcha AI DAY 2026: Embodied AI Meets Autonomous Forklifts

On July 22, 2026, Hangcha Group hosted its inaugural AI DAY, attended by Jianping Qiu, Chairman of GreatStar Group, Limin Zhao, Chairman of Hangcha Group, and more than 200 industry partners, investors, securities representatives and media guests.

Today, autonomous forklifts account for only around 2% of the Chinese market—a figure that reflects a fundamental barrier to large-scale adoption.Traditional AGVs rely on fixed routes and predefined instructions, forcing the site to adapt to the machine. Their limited decision-making capabilities also make it difficult to handle unexpected situations.

Hangcha is taking a different approach: the machine adapts to the site.

Limin Zhao, Chairman of Hangcha Group delivered the opening address, in which he described the AI DAY as the launch of Hangcha’s new AI-driven strategy — a “second venture” for the 70-year-old company. “We have established three R&D platforms dedicated to embodied AI, intelligent logistics and robotics innovation,” he said. “Our goal is clear: become a top-tier robotics company in China and a globally recognized leader in intelligent logistics.”

During AI DAY, Hangcha officially unveiled LogiMind – an embodied AI foundation model purpose-built for industrial vehicles, alongside a full lineup of autonomous forklifts, including counterbalanced, reach, pallet and stacker models. All share a unified architecture powered by 3D LiDAR, multi-camera vision and a cloud-edge collaborative AI engine.

As Wenfei Wang, Hangcha’s CTO and Director of Intelligent Logistics Research Institute, put it: “A traditional AGV follows the exact path you tell it to take. An autonomous forklift understands what you ask it to do and determines how to complete it on its own. It replaces not just the operator’s hands, but the entire decision-making chain.”

The AI DAY marked Hangcha’s transformation from a forklift manufacturer into a technology-driven provider of intelligent logistics solutions. With LogiMind and its new autonomous forklift lineup, the company is bringing embodied intelligence from the lab to the factory floor.
